Three-Five Systems Inc. (TFS), a provider of electronics manufacturing services and display solutions, has announced plans to market wireless monitors and display systems. The company said the wireless monitor products will be the first of their kind targeted at the industrial/medical marketplace and will use wireless technology developed by Avocent Corp., a supplier of keyboard, video and mouse switching, remote access and serial connectivity solutions. TFS plans to have wireless thin-film transistor (TFT) monitor demonstration units produced in the first quarter of this year, with a line of standard wireless monitors and industrial displays available later in the year.    . . .   BOC Edwards, a maker of vacuum systems for the semiconductor manufacturing industry, announced it has opened a new 180-m2 vacuum equipment laboratory at its Clevedon, North Somerset (UK) site. Vacuum technologists at BOC Edwards can now test new pump designs under realistic semiconductor process conditions, the company said.   . . .   Microvision Inc., a developer of light-scanning technologies, announced it has been awarded an $854,000 addition to an existing contract with Concurrent Technologies Corp. in support of the Office of Naval Research Battlespace Information Display Technology program. The total awarded under the contract is approximately $3,250,000. Under the new contract award, Microvision will deliver a number of next-generation Nomad augmented vision systems in 2004 and will complete work on an advanced, next-generation microelectromechanical systems scanning device designed to weigh and cost less than existing designs. The new scanner would then be integrated and demonstrated within a display.
