Dalsa Corp.'s semiconductor wafer facility in Bromont, Quebec, has received two contracts totaling $1.8 million to manufacture CMOS ASICs for the industrial marketplace. The orders, from an existing customer, are to be delivered in the second and third quarter of 2004; Dalsa said it anticipates subsequent purchases. ASICs, or application-specific integrated circuits, are microchips designed for particular applications, such as auto emission control and personal digital assistants.   . . .   Mitchell Tyson has been nominated to serve on the board of photomask manufacturer Photronics Inc., of Brookfield, Conn. Tyson was CEO of PRI Automation until 2002 and is chairman of the Board of AmberWave Systems. He also serves on the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International North American Advisory Board and the Mass High Technology Council. Photronics is a leading worldwide manufacturer of photomasks, high-precision quartz plates that contain microscopic images of electronic circuits.
