Nortel Networks announced that John Roth, the company's CEO, would retire next April and that Clarence J. Chandran, the company's COO, had resigned because of health reasons. Nortel said that it will start looking for a new chief executive and that Roth will take over the responsibilities of Chandran, who was two months into a medical leave to recover from surgery related to a 1997 stabbing in Singapore.

SNPs are an essential component of disease gene research, drug discovery, drug response prediction and evolution studies. The SNaPshot Multiplex System enables SNP validation, screening, linkage mapping, and association studies.
