Deposition Sciences Obtains New ISO Certification

SANTA ROSA, Calif., July 24, 2018 — Optical thin-film coating developer Deposition Sciences Inc. has upgraded to the latest ISO 9001:2015 certification.

ISO 9001:2015 helps afford greater transparency and accountability for internal processes and for materials received from outside sources. This traceability provides a valuable tool for improving product quality and managing vendors, which is particularly important as increased globalization creates more complex, less consistent, and difficult-to-control supply chains. Another key component of ISO 9001:2015 is risk management and mitigation, helping customers control costs by identifying potential problems and establishing contingencies at the very beginning of the purchasing process rather than during production.

“Implementing ISO 9001:2015 requires a commitment at every level within an organization,” said Jim Giacobazzi, president of Deposition Sciences. “Specifically, it requires greater involvement by management and also creates a culture of accountability that encourages all workers to identify risks.
