DuPont Licenses Vertak to Ocular

TORRANCE, Calif., and RICHARDSON, Texas, March 29, 2010 — DuPont Display Enhancements Inc. of Torrance and Ocular LCD Inc. of Richardson have announced an agreement through which DuPont will license its Vertak direct bonding display technology to Ocular for the optical enhancement of a variety of touch-panel and other display products.

Under terms of the agreement, Ocular engineers have been trained on Vertak display panels manufacturing technology and direct bonding techniques at DuPont’s facility in Shenzhen, China.

Ocular designs and manufactures industrial projected capacitive touch panels and display products for advanced human interface and display applications, including point-of-sale, medical, home/office automation and industrial controls.

The licensing agreement will enable the company to further enhance the optical performance and durability of its projected capacitive touch panel and display products by improving their sunlight readability by up to 400 percent and their impact and scratch resistance by up to 300 percent.
