Cyrus Jilla announced that he will step down from his position as Element Six’s CEO, and as a member of its board and the executive committee of majority shareholder De Beers Group.

Since joining Element Six in 2008, Jilla has built partnerships with strategic customers and developed extreme-performance synthetic diamond supermaterials through innovation. To learn more about the company’s supermaterial and its applications, see: Studies Boost Quantum Memory Storage.

“During his tenure, Cyrus led a restructuring of Element Six, resulting in a renewed focus on innovation, stronger operating performance and notably a greatly improved safety record,” said Philippe Mellier, CEO of De Beers Group and chairman of Element Six.

The search for a new CEO is under way, and an announcement will be made in the coming months, the company said. Jilla will remain in his position until a successor is appointed.
