Exelis Wins $28M Night-Vision Goggles Order
Exelis has been awarded a $28 million contract to provide night-vision goggles equipped with GPS viewing, text messaging, video import and export, and other capabilities to an international customer, the aerospace and defense company announced recently.
Under the contract, Exelis will provide proprietary i-Aware tactical mobility night-vision goggles (TM-NVG) to the customer during 2014. The i-Aware TM-NVG is a lightweight Generation 3 night-vision goggle that can be operated independently or as part of a larger network, Exelis said. It can provide integrated color video, advanced imagery displays and shared situational awareness through video import and export, such as target information with video input from weapon sights to view around corners.
