GigOptix Appoints Sales VP

GigOptix Inc., a fabless supplier of high-speed analog components located in Palo Alto, Calif., announced that 20-year semiconductor sales veteran Jay de la Barre is its new vice president of optical communications sales. Prior to joining GigOptix, de la Barre was director of North American and European sales at Sierra Monolithics, a company that specializes in mixed-signal design. Prior to that, he served as director of marketing signal source at Vari-L Co., which was acquired by Sirenza Micro Devices. GigOptix also announced that Elie Massabki, formerly vice president of sales and marketing and general manager for the CX product line, is now vice president of RF and ASIC sales, and that Vivek Rajgarhia, vice president of global sales, has resigned, effective today.
