GigOptix Bolsters Presence in Japan

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 7, 2016 — Semiconductor communications developer GigOptic Inc. has signed UKC Holding Corp. as its distributor for all its Japanese product sales and appointed Maasaki Shirashoji as its director of Japanese sales.

"We are very happy to add GigOptix to our comprehensive portfolio of partners as a key supplier,” said Jun Takagi, executive general manager of UKC Holding Corp. “We have been looking for a strong semiconductor fabless partner that specializes in the optical networks and radio frequency connectivity space.”

The agreement aims to strengthen GigOptix’s business presence in the Japanese enterprise and cloud connectivity markets, in particular the telecom, datacom, radio frequency and application-specific integrated circuit segments.

“We have strengthened the sales team in Japan to support our partnership with UKC Holdings and to realize GigOptix’s growth aspirations for this territory,” said Dr. Raluca Dinu, executive vice president of global customer operations at GigOptix.

UKC Holdings is an electronics and engineering trading company, providing service and products in the semiconductor, electronic and optical fields. GigOptic is a developer of analog, digital and mixed-signal components to enable high-speed information streaming over the telecom networks, datacom infrastructure and consumer electronic links.
