Gigaphoton Opens New Company in China
Gigaphoton Inc., a manufacturer of light sources used in semiconductor lithography, has announced the establishment of its new Chinese company, Gigaphoton China Inc. Gigaphoton has operated as a laser supplier for semiconductor manufacturers since its founding in 2000.
Through this new company, Gigaphoton seeks to strengthen its service support efforts in China. Until now, the optical machinery division of Komatsu Industries (Shanghai) Ltd. has directed Gigaphoton’s service support in China. On Nov. 1, Gigaphoton transferred the control of operations to Gigaphoton China Inc.
“Through Gigaphoton China Inc., Gigaphoton will work to strengthen its support system with eight locations within China,” said Katsumi Uranaka, Gigaphoton’s president and CEO. “We will continue to provide our customers with outstanding products and further improved service support in China, which is an important location for the semiconductor manufacturing industry.”
