Gooch & Housego Opens Sales Office in Japan, Names Director

ILMINSTER, England, April 8, 2013 — Gooch & Housego plc has opened a sales office in Nagoya, Japan, under the management of Masashi Wada.

Gooch & Housego Japan KK is the result of 25 years of business in Japan across various market sectors with the assistance of distribution partners. The company, established with financial support and assistance from the Japan External Trade Organization and the Greater Nagoya Initiative Center, will continue to work with its distribution partners in Japan, with the local office offering support to grow new business.

During his more than 10 years in the optics sector, Wada has gained experience with crystal materials, laser controls and high-speed lithium niobate modulators for telecom applications. He is a member of several study groups in Japan for optical materials, applied technologies, and laser lighting and displays.

Gooch & Housego is a vertically integrated supplier of optical components, assemblies and subsystems for the aerospace and defense, biomedical, industrial and R&D markets.
