Gopalakrishnan Joins OIDA as Exec Technical Director

WASHINGTON, Aug. 11, 2011 — Ganesh Gopalakrishnan has joined the Optoelectronics Industry Development Association (OIDA) as its executive technical director, the organization announced yesterday.

Gopalakrishnan will oversee all of OIDA’s programs. Specifically, he will work with the organization’s board of directors, volunteers and staff to plan events, organize programming and participate in OIDA workshops, meetings and forums.

In addition, he will oversee the development of OIDA industry reports and other publications. He will also conduct advocacy activities, facilitate dialogues between government agencies and member companies, and pursue grant opportunities for OIDA.

OIDA is a nonprofit association that promotes the optoelectronics industry.
