LATHAM, N.Y., March 22, 2016 — Doug GroseOptics technology provider Integra R&D has appointed Doug Grose to its Board of Directors and named him a consultant for the product development and commercialization team.

In his new role, Grose will help accelerate the company’s line of turbo solutions to provide the most cost-effective, single wavelength, 100-G/400-Gbps transport optics at a distance of 500 m to 100 km within smaller chipsets. This technology will eliminate costly parallel optics in multiple-transceiver solutions and extreme component requirements by the coherent method.

Grose recently served as CEO of Globalfoundries, a semiconductor foundry company, with past senior leadership roles at IBM, Hitachi, Advanced Micro Devices and what is now SUNY Polytechnic Institute, where he currently serves as an adjunct professor at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering.

“Doug Grose brings a wealth of expertise in semiconductor engineering, operational leadership and a remarkable track record in building and growing businesses,” said Integra COO Jeff DeWeese. “His leadership skills and extensive experience in the semiconductor design and manufacturing industry will help us accelerate our development of transceiver and hybrid fiber coaxial technologies that our customers will be demanding of us in the future.”

Integra R&D is a joint venture with Integra Optics, focused on research, design and commercialization for the telecommunications and cable industries. The company is developing next-generation, high-bandwidth transceivers and hybrid fiber coaxial equipment compatible with all network platforms.
