Optical module and gratings developer Headwall Photonics Inc. has appointed Christopher Calling to its board of directors.

Calling brings experience in customer strategy development and the sales and marketing of high-performance spectral instrumentation in areas of high growth and technology adoption.

As one of the original founders of Andor Technology Ltd., Calling was instrumental in building and driving Andor’s worldwide annual revenue in excess of $150 million. During this time, he served as president of the Americas and global sales director. He was also responsible for the development and implementation of Andor’s global sales, marketing, and OEM partnership strategies within the spectroscopy and imaging market.

“Across all of our markets, we are seeing an ever-broadening array of applications requiring Headwall’s spectral instrumentation and solutions,” said David Bannon, CEO of Headwall. “Chris has valuable experience in scaling organizations with high rates of growth. I am looking forward to working with him as a Headwall Board member and taking advantage of his 25 years of industry experience to continue delivering on Headwall’s vision.”

Headwall manufactures optical modules, subsystems, and diamond-turned and original holographic diffraction gratings

“Headwall is an incredibly talented company with exceptional market and application experience,” Calling said. “The proven ability to deploy advanced spectral solutions not only for data acquisition but for data exploitation is a clear differentiator for customers that will drive profitable growth. I am very excited to work with the Headwall team.”
