HONOLULU, March 22, 2010 – Hoku Corp., a materials science company focused on clean energy technologies, has changed its name from Hoku Scientific Inc., effective immediately.
The company, whose official corporate name is Hoku Corp., will do business under the name Hoku, and as Hoku Solar and Hoku Materials for its photovoltaic systems installation and polysilicon businesses, respectively.
When the company was founded, its name reflected the core research-driven business developing innovative fuel cell technology, the company said. The new name is expected to reflect the company’s strategic direction as a global clean energy company.
