Hologic Inc. of Bedford, Mass., has signed an agreement to acquire Third Wave Technologies Inc. of Madison, Wis., a developer of molecular diagnostic reagents, for $11.25 per share. The total purchase price will be approximately $580 million. The acquisition will increase Hologic’s presence in the field of women’s health and cervical screening.
