SEMI announced the recent appointment of Paul Hyland, Aixtron SE president and CEO, as a member of its SEMI Europe advisory board. Hyland has worked for Aixtron since 2000, serving as president and CEO of the group through a period of growth and volatility. The company provides deposition equipment to the semiconductor industry. Its technology solutions are used by customers worldwide to build advanced components for electronic and optoelectronic applications based on compound, silicon or organic semiconductor materials, and more recently carbon nanostructures. He has more than 30 years of experience in equipment technology, covering the utility, communications, medical device, semiconductor and optoelectronics sectors. Prior to joining Aixtron, Hyland worked for Smith Industries, Alphameric, Racal and Westinghouse. The company has been actively involved with SEMI Europe for many years, becoming a member of the organization in 2002. It is involved in SEMI’s exhibitions, standards activities and regularly attends the association’s events.
