In Canada, INO (National Optics Institute), an optics center of expertise based in Quebec City, has announced plans to build an office in the region near Waterloo, Ontario. This will be the first of several new business offices. Expanding will allow the organization to better meet the needs of regional businesses and to offer services to more Canadian companies. Since its foundation in 1988, the organization has completed more than 3,500 R&D projects.
