IPG Opens Defense Facility in Alabama
MARLBOROUGH, Mass., Nov. 7, 2025 — IPG Photonics has opened an office and manufacturing facility in Huntsville, Ala. The location will serve as the headquarters of the newly created IPG Defense business and dedicated to the development and production of laser defense solutions for both military and civilian operations.
The 14,000 sq ft facility provides a venue for customers to gain experience with the company’s laser technologies and discuss needs with on-site experts. The location also features flexible and collaborative workspaces and amenities to facilitate rapid design, development, and manufacture of IPG’s CROSSBOW laser defense products.
The location provides access to a pool of defense industry talent, which will help IPG to fill roles in engineering, applications, operations, and field support, among other planned roles for the location.
