IR Detector Market Set to Expand

DUBLIN, Oct. 3, 2016 — The IR detector market for IR spectroscopy is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 7.7 percent through 2022, according to a report by Research and Markets.

The InGaAs-based IR detector market is expected to grow at a higher rate than that of the other IR detector technologies during the forecast period. InGaAs-based IR detectors are used in NIR spectroscopy devices, and the increasing use of NIR spectroscopy devices in food and beverage, environmental, biological, and other applications fosters the growth of the InGaAs-based IR detector market.

North America held the largest share of the IR detector market for IR spectroscopy in 2015 and is expected to lead the global market during the forecast period. Increasing shipments of IR spectroscopy devices and the industry practice of upgrading old devices with new IR detector modules are expected to drive the growth of the IR detector market for IR spectroscopy in the next five years.
