Dec 2010
Chelmsford, UK-based e2v technologies plc has been awarded a contract to develop image sensors for the European Space Agency’s Euclid mission to map the geometry of the dark universe. The global provider of high-performance imaging solutions will develop a CCD sensor that will form the visible focal plane array in the space telescope. When launched, the satellite will orbit the sun 1.5 million km beyond the Earth for a five-year period, surveying the extragalactic sky.
