Imint and Superhexa Collaborate on Video Stabilization Tech for Wearables

Video enhancement software company Imint Image Intelligence collaborated with consumer electronics company Superhexa to integrate Imint’s Vidhance platform into Superhexa Vision dual-camera AR glasses. Designed for the specific requirements of consumer wearables like AR glasses, Imint’s Vidhance video stabilization technology overcomes the inherent challenges of keeping AR glasses steady when shooting live video or still photos. In addition to keeping the camera steady, the technology in consumer wearable camera glasses compensates for the user’s unintended motion by keeping the camera image in frame for on-the-go photography and videography.

Vidhance video stabilization software complements core technologies critical to the performance of the SUPERHEXA Vision AR glasses, including Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, Sony Micro OLED screen, and a built-in 990 milliamp hour(s) high-density battery which provides over 3 h of power and 100 m of video recording time when fully charged. The combination of technologies enables end users to move naturally and maintain active lifestyles as they shoot video and photography hands-free.

“Unlike smartphones that can be placed on a tripod for stability, wearables like SUPERHEXA Vision AR glasses move as the body moves, making it much more difficult for video and image feeds to stay in focus,” said Imint CTO Johan Svensson. “This makes video stabilization not just an attractive selling feature but absolutely essential for mass adoption of wearables in general.”

Glossary
computer vision
Computer vision enables computers to interpret and make decisions based on visual data, such as images and videos. It involves the development of algorithms, techniques, and systems that enable machines to gain an understanding of the visual world, similar to how humans perceive and interpret visual information. Key aspects and tasks within computer vision include: Image recognition: Identifying and categorizing objects, scenes, or patterns within images. This involves training algorithms...
augmented reality
Augmented reality (AR) is a technology that integrates digital information, typically in the form of computer-generated graphics, images, or data, with the real-world environment in real-time. AR enhances the user's perception of the physical world by overlaying or combining digital content onto the user's view of the real world, often through devices like smartphones, tablets, smart glasses, or specialized AR headsets. Key features and principles of augmented reality: Real-time...
video
Referring to the bandwidth and spectrum location of the signal produced by television or radar scanning.
camera
A light-tight box that receives light from an object or scene and focuses it to form an image on a light-sensitive material or a detector. The camera generally contains a lens of variable aperture and a shutter of variable speed to precisely control the exposure. In an electronic imaging system, the camera does not use chemical means to store the image, but takes advantage of the sensitivity of various detectors to different bands of the electromagnetic spectrum. These sensors are transducers...
