Imperx Adds Director of Business Development: People in the News: 4/10/24

BOCA RATON, Fla., April 10, 2024 — Imperx, a provider of ruggedized cameras for aerospace and machine vision, named David Head director of business development. Head has over 20 years of experience in the computer vision industry, most recently focusing on customized solutions. Prior to joining Imperx, he held business development positions at Teledyne Dalsa, Coreco Imaging, and Imaging Technology, Incorporated.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. — The IEEE Photonics Society’s board of governors appointed Patrick Iannone vice president of publications and as chair of the society's publications council. Iannone has a background in optical and wireless systems. He previously worked for AT&T Bell Labs (AT&T Labs) and Nokia Bell Labs, and served as co-editor-in-chief of the IEEE/OSA (Optica) Journal of Optical Communications and Networking. He holds 52 U.S. patents and is a fellow of IEEE and Optica.

MUNICH — Instrument Systems, a developer of light measurement technology and a subsidiary of Konica Minolta, named Yuta Yamanoi managing director. Yasumasa Kuboyama, Yamanoi's predecessor, will move assume leadership of a department in the Konica Minolta Sensing business unit. Yamanoi has more than 20 years of professional experience in the field of color and light measurement technology, including an eight-year tenure in the development department at Konica Minolta Sensing in Japan. He served most recently as senior manager for strategic planning in the light and display and color and appearance divisions of Konica Minolta’s sensing business unit.

MILWAUKEE — Ingantec Corporation, a developer of microLED solutions, has added Robert Walker to its executive team as chief strategy officer. Walker is a 30-year tech industry veteran and has held executive, board, investor, and entrepreneurial positions in firms including LARQ, RayVio, BridgeLux, Intematix, and Veeco. He is currently general partner-in-residence at venture investing firm Mach 49, based in Silicon Valley.

STOCKHOLM — Digital reality solutions developer Hexagon AB appointed Maria Luthström and Gordon Dale as joint presidents of the autonomous solutions division, effective May 1. Current president Michael Ritter will retire at the end of 2024 following a transition period. Luthström has been president of Hexagon’s autonomy and positioning division since 2022 and previously headed Hexagon’s sustainability and investor relations functions. Dale has been COO of the autonomy and positioning division since 2016.

LONDON — QuEra Computing, a neutral-atom quantum computing company, appointed Steve Suarez U.K. corporate director. He will head the company’s strategic direction and growth in the region, supporting QuEra’s business roadmap for delivering a series of error-corrected quantum computers starting this year. Prior to joining QuEra, Suarez served as the global head of innovation and global functions at financial services company HSBC. He is the current CEO of HorizonX Consulting, and serves as an external advisor to management consulting firm Bain & Company.
