InVision Wins $2 Million in Lumber Industry Orders

NEWARK, Calif., March 9 -- InVision Technologies Inc. said that its subsidiary, Inovec Inc. in Eugene, Ore., has received orders worth $2.2 million for its laser-based optimization and scanning systems for lumber manufacturing. The Collins Pine Co. in Portland, Ore., has purchased an Inovec WaneMaster Edger Optimizer system for its Lakeview, Ore., lumber mill valued at about $1 million.
   Inovec also received orders valued at $1.2 million for its StereoScan line of optimizers. One of these new units will be installed at the Delta, B.C., Canada, sawmill of Northwest Hardwoods, a division of Weyerhaeuser Co. A second unit will go to a Weyerhaeuser pine mill in Australia. The other StereoScan units will be delivered to a large European hardwood manufacturer with whom Inovec has a long-standing relationship.
