UTICA, N.Y., March 19, 2010 –  Indium Corp., which supplies the electronics, semiconductor, solar, thin-film and thermal management markets, announced that Jacques Matteau has been named global sales manager.

Matteau, who is based in San Carlos, Calif., will be responsible for market development and sales of the NanoFoil – a heat source that can be locally positioned to assist in creating a solder bond between materials. He also is developing and strengthening Indium’s market in Asia, Europe and the US.

Matteau has more than 20 years of experience with thin-film technologies and the electronics industry.

Indium acquired the proprietary NanoFoil products and the patented NanoBond process from Reactive NanoTechnologies Inc. in September 2009.

GLOSSARY
electronics
That branch of science involved in the study and utilization of the motion, emissions and behaviors of currents of electrical energy flowing through gases, vacuums, semiconductors and conductors, not to be confused with electrics, which deals primarily with the conduction of large currents of electricity through metals.
thin film
A thin layer of a substance deposited on an insulating base in a vacuum by a microelectronic process. Thin films are most commonly used for antireflection, achromatic beamsplitters, color filters, narrow passband filters, semitransparent mirrors, heat control filters, high reflectivity mirrors, polarizers and reflection filters.
