Intevac Photonics, a subsidiary of Intevac Inc. of Santa Clara, Calif., has received a $9.6 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract from the US Navy’s Naval Air Systems Command (Navair) Warfare Center. The contract covers Intevac’s ongoing performance improvements of the ISIE 4000 four-megapixel digital night-vision sensors for various Navy aircraft platforms. The sensor is based on the company’s patented electron-bombarded active-pixel sensor design of digital imaging sensors for extreme low-light-level detection. The award represents a five-year base contract with additional options. The company’s initial delivery order was for $1.9 million within the IDIQ award.
