JMAR Technologies Inc. of San Diego and Micro Imaging Technology of San Clemente, Calif., have signed an original equipment manufacturer agreement. The deal allows the former to sell the latter’s tabletop rapid microbial identification system alone or as a complement to its own product. The JMAR BioSentry Water Monitoring System, which measures multiangle light scattering of laser light to detect and classify microorganisms, is currently used in beverage quality assurance and municipal water supply applications. The Micro Imaging device, also laser-based, can be used with the system to validate pathogen identity.
