Kopin Names Telecommunications Vet to Board

Kopin Corp. of Taunton, Mass., a producer of ultrasmall LCDs and heterojunction bipolar transistors for consumer and military applications, today announced the appointment of James K. Brewington, president of developing markets at Lucent Technologies, to its board of directors. Prior to his most recent position at Lucent, Brewington was president of its Mobility Solutions group. He began his career at AT&T in 1968, and since then has held various executive management positions in the telecommunications industry, including overseeing Bell Telephone Wireless Laboratories. Brewington was a member of the US/Egyptian Presidents' Council (a business advisory panel established by President Bill Clinton and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to improve bilateral commercial and economic relationships) and serves on the board of the US-Saudi Arabian Business Council. He is a member of the Cellular Telecommunications Industry Association (CTIA) and the CTIA Wireless Foundation.
