Labsphere to Supply Shanghai Center with LED Measurement Systems

NORTH SUTTON, N.H., Aug. 18, 2011 — Labsphere Inc., a Halma company, has signed a cooperation agreement with National Lighting Test Centre in Shanghai, China. The partnership, facilitated by Labsphere distributor Shanghai Alpha Lighting Equipment Testing Ltd., is centered on the company’s TOCS LED measurement system.

Under the agreement, Labsphere supplied the center with its thermal/optical/electrical LED measurement systems (TOCS). The center will apply its patent (Measurement Devices for LED Forward Voltage Drop and Junction Temperature Curve, Patent No. ZL2009 2 0212653.0) to the system to correlate voltage drop with junction temperature.

The companies have also agreed to actively share information on the development of lighting trends and to cooperate in the launch of academic communications and activities.

The TOCS system consists of an integrated sphere, high-resolution CCD spectrometer, light source, power supply and proprietary TOCS software.

Labsphere manufactures precision radiometric and photometric test and measurement products to address the specific needs of the electronic imaging, LED, lighting, medical imaging, optics and aerospace industries.
