Lake Shore Cryotronics Acquires Janis Research’s Laboratory Cryogenics Business

Lake Shore Cryotronics, a provider of instruments and systems for measurement and control solutions, has acquired Janis Research’s Laboratory Cryogenics business of Woburn, Mass. Lake Shore will assume marketing Janis Research liquid nitrogen, liquid helium, closed-cycle refrigerator (cryogen-free) cryostats, liquid helium and cryogen-free superconducting magnet systems, cryogenic and cryogen-free probe stations, and lab cooling systems. A separate company, JanisULT, will offer the Janis dilution refrigerator and He-3 ultralow temperature (ULT) system product lines.

The move brings together two providers of cryogenic and material characterization solutions for low-temperature research. Janis Research will not relocate product development, engineering, manufacturing, and/or shipping operations.
