A jury in the US District Court for the Northern District of California has rendered a verdict in favor of Life Technologies Corp. of Carlsbad, Calif., for its patent infringement dispute with Illumina Inc. The latter company had alleged that the SOLiD sequencing system commercialized by Applied Biosystems, a subsidiary of Life Technologies, infringed three US patents.
