LightWorks Optics Wins Lockheed Martin Contract

A multimillion-dollar sales contract has been awarded to LightWorks Optics Inc. of Tustin, Calif., by Lockheed Martin Corp. of Bethesda, Md., which specializes in aeronautics and space systems. LightWorks Optics will produce hardware for Lockheed’s IRST, an infrared search and tracker system that detects heat sources within its field of view using passive long-wave infrared sensors to alert pilots of incoming missiles.
