Living Optics, AVerMedia Bring Spectral Analysis to the Edge

Living Optics, a hyperspectral imaging technology company, has entered into a collaboration with AVerMedia, a video capture technology company specializing in AI-driven edge computing solutions. The companies are developing a bundled solution that brings spectral analysis to the edge.

According to Living Optics co-founder and CTO Steve Chappell, the collaboration aims to move hyperspectral imaging capabilities out of the lab and into the field. The two companies recently presented a joint solution at COMPUTEX 2025 that paired a video-rate hyperspectral camera with and industrial-grade edge computer powered by NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin. Supported applications of the collaboration include those in environmental sensing, agriculture, and medical diagnostics.

The bundled solution, according to the collaborators, is built to withstand demanding real-world environments while offering industrial-grade reliability and performance.
