Luna Innovations Acquires Fiber Optics OEM Solutions Company New Ridge Technologies
ROANOKE, Va., Nov. 2, 2020 — Luna Innovations announced it has acquired New Ridge Technologies (NRT), a Md.-based developer and manufacturer of fiber optic test and measurement equipment and fiber optic subsystems. NRT, with its portfolio of systems for the telecommunications industry and polarization-control applications, adds to Luna’s existing optical technologies offerings, including fiber optic-enabled sensors for the aerospace and automotive industries and photonics measurement and control products.
NRT’s portfolio includes products for phase tracking, polarimetry, optical spectral analysis for lab use, OEM solutions, and field measurement devices. According to a Luna press release, the investment will support enhanced customer connectivity in 5G buildout and bandwidth expansion in data centers.
