Materials Company Trinseo Acquiring Arkema’s PMMA Business
Trinseo, a manufacturer of plastics, latex binders, and synthetic rubber, entered into a binding agreement with Arkema SA, a manufacturer of specialty chemicals, including those for coatings solutions, to acquire Arkema’s polymethyl methacrylates (PMMA) and activated methyl methacrylates (MMA) business.
The price of purchase, per a press release, is worth a reported €1.14 billion (approximately $1.36 billion). Trinseo said it expects the transaction to close in mid-2021.
