Method and Apparatus for Using Thermal Infrared for Face Recognition (US Patent No. 7406184)
Inventors have patented an apparatus and methodology that incorporate thermal infrared imaging into a complete end-to-end face recognition system. The invention uses video imagery sensed in subspectra of both the reflective and thermal infrared domains to detect a face, to create a face representation template, and to match or compare the template of an unknown individual with a stored database or gallery of face templates.
