Micro-LAM Joins Precision Advancement Center of Excellence
PORTAGE, Mich., Feb. 2, 2021 — Micro-LAM, a manufacturer of laser-assisted systems for ultraprecision machining, joined three business units in AMETEK’s Ultra-Precision Technology group. The combination forms the Precision Advancement Center of Excellence (PACE) in the United Kingdom. The center will provide the European market with centralized capabilities for superior diamond turning, tooling, and metrology, featuring the latest innovation in ultraprecision machining, tooling, and metrology equipment in one location.
Micro-LAM will be supporting the center with Optimus laser-assisted systems and experienced applications specialists. Its subsidiaries M10 Edge and 603 OPTX will also be part of the customer solutions available at PACE. The center is housed in the Taylor Hobson headquarters in Leicester, England, and is also joined by AMETEK businesses Precitech and Zygo.
