Trumpf Laser Marking Systems AG has opened a 35,500-sq-ft production facility in Grüsch, Switzerland, to accommodate the 70 percent increase in orders for marking lasers over the previous year. The $17.8 million building doubles the company’s current production floor space, enabling all work to be carried out on a single level for easier procedure control and improved manufacturing and logistics processes.

Diode-pumped solid-state and ultrafast laser maker Laser Quantum has moved its office staff at its headquarters in Stockport, England, to a new building. The new facility will allow it to continue increasing the strength of its team in order to respond to the growing demand for its products and services.

Digital imaging solutions provider Canon USA Inc. has opened Healthcare Optics Research Laboratory in Cambridge, Mass. The 13,600-sq-ft lab aims to bring medical devices to market for a variety of applications.
