NACL Appoints Gatmaitan as Engineering and Technology Director
MENTOR, Ohio, April 30, 2018 — North American Coating Laboratories (NACL) has appointed Gener Gatmaitan as director of engineering and technology.
Within this role, Gatmaitan will lead NACL’s design of thin-film coatings, help to optimize existing and newly acquired vacuum coating systems, and assist in continuous process improvement. He will also be involved in the development and deployment of process-enriching optical tooling designs.
Gatmaitan brings more than 25 years of experience in the optical coating and engineering field, as NACL aims to grow into more technologically advanced fields that require more sophisticated coating designs. Prior to joining NACL, Gatmaitan served as coating engineering manager at IOS Optics, where he managed all coating operations, including design, process improvement and optimization, yield improvement, and troubleshooting. He has also worked at Hoya Optics, where he was primarily focused on product development.
NACL provides optical coatings for a variety of customers in the polymer and glass optics markets.
