New Scale Adds Squiggle Distributors in Europe

New Scale Technologies has added distributors for its piezoelectric Squiggle motors: SI Scientific Instruments GmbH of Munich, Germany; Orlin Technologies Ltd. of Bedfordshire, England; and Optoprim SRL of Monza, Italy. They join New Scale's pan-European representative Cedrat Technologies of Meylan, France. New Scale’s Squiggle linear motors can be operated in extreme environments such as vacuum, cryogenic temperatures and high magnetic fields. Applications include tiny focus-and-zoom optics in mobile phone cameras and other imagers; electronic locks and intelligent fasteners; nanoscale fluid control including lab-on-a-chip systems; medical devices including miniature drug pumps and endoscopes; automotive modules; lasers; aerospace and defense systems; cryogenic and MRI-compatible instruments; and consumer electronics.
