Newport PV Lab Offers Wafer Testing

IRVINE, Calif., Dec. 12, 2012 — Newport Corp.’s Technology & Applications Center’s photovoltaic lab now offers solar wafer testing and calibration on cells up to 156 x 156 mm.

Endorsed by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation, Newport’s lab can certify the dimensional and electrical performance parameters of photovoltaic cells, including solar reference cells, irradiance sensors, small-area research cells and solar wafers. Calibrations are traceable to the World Radiometric Reference and NIST.

Photovoltaic test services include a calibration certificate that indicates the measured total area of the device, its spectral response and I-V curve, and the electrical performance parameters with stated uncertainties. Measurements are made according to the American Society for Testing Materials standard E948-09.
