Newport to Ring NASDAQ Bell Aug. 16

IRVINE, Calif., Aug. 13, 2010 — Newport Corp. will ring the NASDAQ Stock Market opening bell Monday, Aug. 16, 2010 at 9:30 a.m.

Members of the company’s board of directors and senior executives will be present for the opening ceremony, which will include remarks by Robert Phillippy, president and CEO of Newport.

Covered live on CNBC television, the ceremony will also be available via live webcast. In addition, a video replay and photos will be available for viewing on the NASDAQ website.

Newport Corp. supplies advanced-technology products and systems for scientific research, microelectronics, aerospace and defense/security, life and health sciences, and precision industrial manufacturing markets.
