MORGES, Switzerland, June 8 -- Nextrom (USA) Inc., Nextrom Holding SA and Bular LLC, of Camarillo, Calif., announced that Nextrom has acquired Bular's technology and assets related to soot fabrication of optical fiber preforms. Nextrom said it will incorporate Bular's technology into its new line of preform manufacturing equipment using soot technology.
Bular has ceased its operation in the field, and Nextrom will begin operating Bular's fully equipped technology center in Camarillo to develop and demonstrate equipment and technology for optical fiber preform production, including preforms for low water-peak single-mode fiber and related products.
Bular's existing staff, including Bedros Orchanian, director of engineering, and Kim Nhu Vo, process engineer, will continue in their positions as Nextrom employees. Arnab Sarkar, president of Bular, has joined Nextrom as vice president of soot products, based in Camarillo.
Nextrom Holding SA is a supplier of manufacturing solutions and services to the fiber optic industry.
