Northrop Grumman Selects Goodrich for Camera Development

Based in Apopka, Fla., Northrop Grumman Laser Systems’ business unit has appointed Goodrich Corp. of Charlotte, N.C., to design and manufacture a boresight monitoring camera subsystem. Goodrich’s SUI (Sensors Unlimited Inc.) team in Princeton, N.J., will employ its shortwave IR technology in developing the camera. The technology will be integrated in a multifunction laser for Future Combat Systems, a US Army modernization program that comprises a linked network of manned and unmanned air and ground systems. The cameras will be used to track and align lasers at multiple wavelengths on the monitoring camera subsystem.
