Olympus Corporation Appoints CEO: People in the News: 4/30/25

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated’s board of directors has named George C. Bobb III as the company’s president and CEO on the heels of Edwin Roks’ retirement as CEO. Roks will continue to serve in a special advisory to the executive chairman through Aug. 31. Bobb has served in a variety of upper management roles at Teledyne since 2008, most recently as president and COO.

TOKYO — MedTech company Olympus Corporation has appointed Bob White as CEO, succeeding Yasuo Takeuchi, effective June 1. He will also be proposed as a candidate for election to the board at Olympus’ general meeting of shareholders. White most recently served as executive vice president and president of Medtronic’s medical surgical portfolio.

CANBERRA, Australia — Liquid Instruments, a developer of reconfigurable test and measurement technology, has added Brian Schmidt and Danielle Wuchenich to its board of directors. Schmidt is a 2011 Nobel laureate in physics for his research in the expansion of the universe and an active scientist at the Australian National University’s Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics. Wuchenich co-founded Liquid Instruments and currently serves as the company’s COO.

MONTBONNOT-SAINT-MARTIN, France — Measurement software and analysis company Metrologic Group and tolerance analysis software supplier Dimensional Control Systems have merged to form a business unit under engineering company Sandvik Group, which will be headed by Benoit Perrin. Before his appointment as president of the business unit, Perrin held a number of management positions at technology companies, most recently as managing director of EasyMile.

PUCHHEIM, Germany — STEMMER IMAGING, a machine vision company, has added Pascal Pilote as president of its American business and member of its group management team. Pilote most recently served as vice president of KESTREL Vision’s American business.

GARBSEN, Germany — LPKF Laser & Electronics SE has mutually parted ways with chairman to its supervisory board Jean-Michael Richard, who will leave the position once his mandate expires June 4. At its June meeting, the board will propose Paul Owsianowski for election. Owsianowski brings expertise in finance, corporate strategy, and mergers and acquisitions, and currently serves as investment manager and partner at Active Ownership Group. Following the annual meeting, the board plans to elect Alexa Siebert as chairwoman.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Syntec Optics Holdings, Inc. has appointed Tom Lopa as director of opto-mechanicals. In his role, Lopa will lead and increase production for aiming, satellite, biomedical, and night vision opto-mechanical products. Most recently, Lopa served as a production manager in a satellite division.

TUCSON, Ariz. — InterOptics, LLC, an optical metrology company, has added Chris Ames to lead its sales and marketing initiative as sales and business development manager. Ames previously worked in the semiconductor and optical capital equipment ecosystem.

VALHALLA, N.Y. — FUJIFILM, an optics and technology company, has appointed Anthony Farina to the role of vice president and head of corporate communications of FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation and Delara Motlagh as COO of FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics, Inc. Farina comes to Fujifilm after most recently serving as chief communications and brand officer for CSL and as chief communications and corporate affairs officer for DuPont. Motlagh previously held senior leadership positions at Catalent Pharma Solutions, Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies, and Baxter Healthcare.

LINDENHURST, N.Y. — Developer of digital infrastructure and fiber optics TiniFiber has named Nikki Van Gemert as regional sales manager for the Northeast. With over 29 years of experience in business-to-business sales and strategic account development, Van Gemert joins TiniFiber from TTI, Inc., and has previous experience at Velcro, Allied Wire & Cable, and Anixter.
