Olympus America’s Scientific Equipment Group received two awards at the first European Scanner Contest, which took place in Berlin in conjunction with the 94th annual meeting of the German Society of Pathology and the 10th Federal Congress of Pathology meeting. The Center Valley, Pa., company, a microscopic imaging solutions provider, earned two of the top three honors in the quality category – scanning slides of a wide variety of specimens at 20x and 40x – for its VS110 virtual microscopy system. Competing among a field of five slide scanners, the system had to accurately image three diagnostically relevant regions of interest on 10 slides.
