Optopod Ltd., a spinoff company of the University of Kent in the UK, has invented a method, based on optical coherence tomography, to image superficial tissue without damaging it. The technology is noninvasive and provides high-depth resolution. It enables imaging of biological tissue such as skin, teeth, gums, internal vessel walls and hair, as well as burns.
