Osram Acquires BAG Electronics
Aiming to strengthen its electronic component business, semiconductor-based technology developer Osram Licht AG has acquired light component developer BAG Electronics GmbH for an undisclosed amount.
A five-year supply contract has been agreed upon, including a minimum sales volume, and Osram will supply parent company Trilux with lighting components. BAG’s 380 employees have moved to Osram.
“This purchase completes our portfolio of electronic ballasts for cutting-edge lighting technology,” said Wilhelm Nehring, CEO of Osram’s digital systems business unit.
BAG specializes in the manufacture of LED lighting systems and controllers for human-centric lighting. Osram is a developer of light modules, LED lamps, luminaires, and light management systems.
