PENNINGTON, N.J., Dec. 2, 2010 — PD-LD Inc., maker of Volume-Bragg Grating (VBG) technology, announce that it has been awarded three new patents pertaining to novel developments in VBG manufacturing, further cementing its role in this branch of laser stabilizing technology.

The new patents focus on three specific areas within VBG manufacturing — alteration of characteristics (Patent No. US 7,796.673), recording structures with a target wavelength (Patent No. US 7,792,003), and manufacturing of three-dimensional VBGs (Patent No. US 7,817,888).

“New manufacturing methods such as these provide a launch pad for addressing novel applications of our technology,” said Dr. Vladimir S. Ban, PD-LD CEO. “We are excited by these advances in VBG manufacturing, and to applying them at the cutting edge of VBG development.”
