LEDERHOSE, Germany, March 22, 2011 — Motion control company PI (Physik Instrumente LP) and its piezo ceramics division, PI Ceramic, have announced plans to invest approximately $13 million in piezo ceramics manufacturing over the next three years. The company announced at its groundbreaking ceremony that, even after adding 50 employees to its piezo ceramics division in 2010, PI Ceramic was close to reaching its output capacity.

It anticipates hiring another 20 to 30 people to keep up with the global demand for its piezo ceramic components and subassemblies.
